A High-Octane Success: Recap of Sullivan Auctioneers' Two-Day Collector Car Auction

On March 3 and 4, car enthusiasts and collectors revved their engines for Sullivan Auctioneers' electrifying two-day collector car auction. The event drew 942 eager bidders, showcasing rare and classic vehicles, and culminating in over $3M in total sales.

Top Sellers Stealing the Show

The auction floor was buzzing with excitement as the bids rolled in, especially for these standout vehicles:

  1. 1963 Chevrolet Split Window Corvette – Sold for $93,500
  2. 1966 Chevrolet II Nova SS L79 – Sold for $74,250
  3. 1970 Dodge Charger 500 – Sold for $65,500

These iconic models drew fierce competition, reflecting their timeless allure and collector value.

Cars Crossing Borders

The auction's reach extended far and wide, with vehicles finding new homes across the map. The furthest traveled car is now heading to Tukwila, WA, while one surprise destination was Winkler, MB, Canada — proving that Sullivan Auctioneers' events attract global attention.

Unique Finds and Unforgettable Stories

Beyond the high-profile sales, the auction also featured unique pieces like a 1941 GMC CC101 Fire Pickup, listed by BigIron’s Craig Sitzman. We’re thrilled to share that the fire truck sold for $11,350, with 82 bids, and the winning bid came from Minnesota. Every dollar — including Craig’s sales commission — will go to the Broadwater Volunteer Fire Department in Broadwater, Nebraska, to help fund a new ambulance and lifesaving equipment.

“This really means a lot to me,” Craig shared. “A lot of these guys on the volunteer board are my customers — they’re farmers and ranchers, and they aren’t paid anything for their time to help protect their community. I think it’s important to step up and support them. I’m glad BigIron can support them in their mission.”

Craig’s generosity and the community-driven spirit of this auction highlight the powerful impact events like these can have beyond the auction block.
